Welcome to our Whitby dojo. My goal is to provide the very best instruction and training experience to our students; while, improving self confidence, self esteem, coordination, balance and of course self defense skills. We offer separate kids and adult classes as well as traditional weapons training. No two classes are ever the same as each class is tailored to the students that are training that class. Sensei Adrian Robichaud
Durham Shorin Ryu Karate teaches Shorin Matsubyashi Ryu karate-do, a traditional martial art, which was developed in Okinawa, Japan by Shoshin Nagamine. We train under Eihachi Ota Hanshi of California. We focus on the art of karate-do emphasizing kata (forms), traditional martial arts weapons training (kobudo), self-defense, basics, character development, sparring and physical fitness.

We welcome families and students from six years old and up.
Jiu-Jitsu, Aikido and Yoga are also available. We have discounted family and multi-martial arts rates.
We provide a roughly 1000 square foot fully matted, clean and bright training area. There are large mirrors to help you improve your technique. Our lobby area has two large windows which allows parents to observe their children practicing karate without interfering with their child's training.
We are conveniently located at 1121 Dundas Street in Whitby just west of Adelaide/Hopkins. Both Durham Regional Transit and Go Transit busses stop in front of the club on Dundas Street East.
